The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that several communities in Accra East are currently experiencing power disruption following a damage to electricity infrastructure on the ECG Quarters Feeder.
The disruption has affected multiple residential and institutional areas, including East Legon Hills, ECG Village, Police City, parts of Amanfrom, Ashiyie Fulani, Regimanuel Estate, Redrow Estate, Ridge View Estate, parts of Nanakrom, the Cancer Hospital area, and sections of Lakeside Estate Community 8.
In a statement issued on Friday, April 17, ECG said the outage was caused by burnt poles on the feeder serving the affected communities.
The power distribution company explained that engineers have been deployed to the field to fix the fault and restore electricity supply.
“The outage being experienced is as a result of burnt poles on the feeder which serves your communities,” ECG stated.
ECG further assured residents that efforts are underway to restore power by 6:00 p.m. on the same day.
It apologised for the inconvenience and urged affected customers to remain calm as restoration works continue.

If ECG officials or technicians stop connecting lines to shops and stores where they are not supposed ti be cited. These problems will not arise. A hair dressing saloon which operates in a certain home suddenly gets the container to the roadside there is a service pole. The next day, connection is done and business going on as usual. The pole is definitely overloaded, and the next thing will be fire outbreak.
