
President John Dramani Mahama is expected to cut the sod for the construction of a Farmer Service Centre at Takoratwene in the Kwahu Afram Plains South District of the Eastern Region as part of the government’s flagship 24 Hour Economy initiative.
The sod cutting ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, is aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and strengthening support systems for farmers through improved services and infrastructure.
The project forms part of broader government efforts to transform the agricultural sector, strengthen value chains and advance the 24 Hour Economy agenda designed to stimulate national development and economic growth.
The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, is expected to attend the event as the Special Guest.
According to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the Farmer Service Centre will offer essential services to farmers in the area, including improved access to agricultural inputs, extension support and modern farming technologies intended to enhance productivity.
