Former Minister of State Abena Osei Asare Come Again

Former Minister of State Abena Osei Asare Come Again

The hypocritical conduct of some acclaim professionals appear as insult to the good people of Ghana. The worst offenders are practitioners in finance, economics and law. Most of them twist economic theories and legal jargon based on their political leanings just to confuse the citizenry.

They do this with dishonest pride without considering the harm to their integrity, because the word integrity has lost it value in Ghana's lexicon.

It is highly ridiculous for anyone to defend a cruel programme that sent a lot people to their graves and rendered more than one million people poor.

Surprisingly the former minister of state Mrs Abena Osei Asare instead of her apologising on behalf of her boss Ken Ofori Atta now a fugitive of justice, cruelty against innocent Ghanaians. Sadly Abena Osei Asare chose to embarrassed herself, with an unpardonable statement that the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP) was a prudent policy that safeguard pension funds and there were no lost of money, and investors principal were not touched.

Someone who had degrees and certificates in finance, economic and accountancy has forgotten her notes on time value of money concepts, and she deliberately refused to turn her mind to Investors investment that has gone bad through effluxion of time. Mr Ken Ofori Atta, the former minister penchant for excessively and reckless borrowing, brought Ghana's economy onto its kneel.

They aided the president lavish lifestyle by wastefully chartering luxurious jets for his numerous trips abroad at the cost of over 17,000 dollars per hour at the expense of the state.

President Nana Akufo Addo's wasteful lifestyle crushed the economy, and he was very desperate looking for money but failed to think through the havoc DDEP might cost the citizenry, hence the decision that plunged the country into deep serious crisis which dragged more than a million people into poverty and others to their untimely death.

No rationale being will defend a programme that sent uncountable people to their untimely death and dragged over one million people into poverty.

Hon. Abena Osei Asare defence of the monstrous DDEP has exposed her to public ridicule and she must do the needful to redeem the little reputation if any, by sincerely apologising to the good people of Ghana for forgiveness.
