The Council of State Member for the Volta Region, H.E. Gabriel Kwamegah-Atokple Tanko, has donated relief items to support victims of recent tidal waves in Agavedzi, Amutinu/Salakope, and surrounding communities.
The donation took place on Tuesday, May 20, at his residence in Weta. Items including bags of rice, sugar, boxes of spaghetti, and cooking oil were presented to key officials involved in the disaster response: Mr. Dodzi Kofi Aidam (Deputy Regional Director of NADMO), Mr. Vacus Dogbe (NADMO Regional Operations Officer), and Hon. Kumawu Sylvester (Assembly Member for Amutinu/Salakope).
H.E. Tanko said the gesture was a show of solidarity with families who have lost their homes and livelihoods due to the tidal waves.
He commended NADMO and the Assembly Member for their tireless efforts in ensuring that relief reaches those in need.
In his message to the affected communities, he emphasized the importance of unity and compassion in difficult times.
“To my brothers and sisters, parents and grandparents in these affected areas, please know this: You are not alone. Together, we will rebuild, recover, and rise again,” he said, offering words of encouragement to the victims.
