The Sene East District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has organized a dialogue in Kajaji to provide parliamentary aspirants in the Sene East Constituency a platform to present their visions and plans to the electorate.
The event aimed to enable voters to make informed decisions in the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
Mr. Ibrahim Wudonyin of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the only candidate present, addressed questions on six key areas: education, employment, health, roads, agriculture, and the economy.
In his remarks on education, Mr. Wudonyin pledged to prioritize the recruitment of more teachers and address challenges affecting basic education in the constituency if elected.
On employment, he assured constituents of his commitment to securing job opportunities for the youth in various sectors of the economy.
Regarding health, Mr. Wudonyin highlighted his role in lobbying for the Agenda 111 hospital project in the constituency, which is currently about 75% complete. He promised to ensure its swift completion if voted into office.
Speaking on infrastructure, he committed to leveraging the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) to construct more roads in the constituency. Additionally, he proposed developing a larger, modern market to accommodate the growing number of traders who frequent the area from both near and far.
In the area of agriculture, Mr. Wudonyin promised to procure three tractors to supplement resources provided by the central government, ensuring accessible tractor services for the predominantly farming community.
During the dialogue, participants raised various questions about developmental challenges facing the constituency, to which Mr. Wudonyin provided detailed responses. He also affirmed his dedication to maintaining peace before, during, and after the elections.
Hon. Dominic Napari, the incumbent Member of Parliament for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the only other contestant, was unable to attend the event.
