Public Accessible Letter To Charles Mensa, The Husband Of Jean Mensa, About Electoral Crimes That Have Destroyed Ghana

Feature Article Public Accessible Letter To Charles Mensa, The Husband Of Jean Mensa, About Electoral Crimes That Have Destroyed Ghana
WED, 30 OCT 2024

Charles Mensa, the spouse of Jean Mensa, the head of the Electoral Commission, is a man whose name and actions are rarely reported in the media. However, Mr. Mensa is accountable for the collapse of Ghana's infrastructure because he is an NPP politician. The 67-year-old man, who was the former CEO of Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO) during the administration of former President Agyekum Kufour, helped his wife conduct election irregularities, which caused the economy to collapse.

Based on the Agyapadie book, Charles Mensa and his wife, Jean Mensa, are working for the NPP government; as a result, their criminal actions have harmed the country and its citizens by leaving the majority of the vulnerable to live in abject poverty, while a small number of people benefit from wealth creation. In addition to helping his wife rig the 2024 elections, Charles Mensa, the founder and head of the Institute of Economic Affairs, or IEA, has previously encouraged her to do so in both 2016 and 2020.

With the removal of Charlotte, the former head of the Electoral Commission, and the appointment of Jean Mensa, Ghana started to fall apart. To take control of the resources, and financial institutions, Akufo Addo nominated other NPP politicians to important positions. For instance, Kofi Jumah, whose son is married to the president's daughter, was appointed the director of GIHOC, and Ken Ofori-Atta, a member of the president's family, was appointed the Finance Minister.

Other appointments included the appointment of Ernest Addison as governor of the Bank of Ghana and the appointment of many judges to serve on the Supreme Court. As a result of these criminals, such as Charles and Jean Mensa, controlling the country, Ghana progressively went from being a wealthy nation to one that was deeply indebted. Although Ghana's public debt is currently a staggering GHC 763 billion, many people are unaware that the country's debt was GHC 120 billion before Mahama's departure.

Charles Mensa aided his wife in 2016 by violating the country's Constitution to carry out several election frauds, which were made public after some NPP politicians had a misunderstanding with the ruling administration. For example, the NPP politician Kennedy Agyapong, claims that a large number of people were transported in from neighboring countries to boost the NPP's vote total and ensure its victory in 2016. Jean Mensa, however, has denied committing any electoral offenses.

Charles Mensa once again encouraged his wife to commit grave electoral offenses in 2020, which resulted in the deaths of eight innocent Ghanaians. Justice has never been served to the victims' families until today. Worrisome bogus figures overtook Jean Mensa, who was on a rigging rampage, establishing her identity as the most criminal EC chief in Ghanaian political history. Till today, she did not disclose the president's vote total after Akufo Addo was proclaimed winner in the 2020 election.

In addition to electoral crimes' impact on the economy, businesses, and investments, Jean Mensa and her husband are also responsible for the rise in financial crimes, such as widespread corruption, money laundering with impunity, and the printing of money without the consent of parliament. Since the money from illegal mining is used to fund NPP political campaigns, Ghana has the most lawless government in the world, and everything in the governments of Akufo Addo and Bawumia is in crisis.

Ghana has been ravaged by illegal mining to the point where it has impacted the country's agriculture, notably the cocoa industry. As a consequence, the European Union is buying less cocoa from Ghana. Illegal mining has had catastrophic effects, including environmental risks and mothers giving birth to infants with deformities. The effects of illicit mining are making it difficult for many communities in Ghana to obtain clean drinking water.

It's very alarming that Charles Mensa, Jean Mensa's husband, has never tried to assist her accept her part in the election frauds that have affected the country because, as an NPP politician, he gains from whatever crime his wife commits. One of the biometric equipments stolen from EC offices under Jean Mensa's leadership, was later discovered in the possession of a non-EC official who was registering illegitimate voters in Nsawam, which is in the constituency of NPP legislator Frank Annoh-Dompreh.

Charles Mensa helped his wife remove registered voter names from NDC strongholds to unidentified locations and add fictitious names to inflate NPP registered voter numbers. Jean Mensa will either apologize or call it an error, but the truth is that all of these crimes were done on purpose to benefit the NPP. The NDC has looked into some of these electoral manipulations and has made them public to Ghanaians. No EC head in Ghana has done what Charles Mensa and his wife are doing.

Similar to Jean Mensa's refusal to testify in court and explain to Ghanaians why she repeatedly manipulated election results in favor of Akufo Addo, she has also refused to submit to a "forensic audit" to eliminate any mistakes and ensure that Ghanaians have a free and fair election in 2024. I want Charles and Jean Mensa to realize that their crimes have not only irreparably damaged Ghana, but they have also killed innocent people, especially the elderly, and devastated the livelihoods of the impoverished.

Considering the current state of destruction, hunger, rage, and dissatisfaction in Ghana, I doubt that either of them would survive to enjoy their stolen wealth or defend their properties if the 2024 election is rigged. , I will use this occasion to thank the US embassy in Ghana for tightening the visa application process to ensure a peaceful election and prevent politicians who intend to cause electoral violence escape from Ghana.
