Asante Professionals Club (APC), has expressed concerns over, what it describes as, the increasing ethnocentric attacks against Asantes and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, describing them as unwarranted and harmful to the unity and respect that bind the nation together.
In a statement, signed by Emmanuel Owusu Ansah, the acting secretary, the group condemned the acts, emphasising that it is committed to preserving the dignity and heritage of the Asante people and for that reason there is the need for unity and cultural pride.
It also highlighted the centralised governance system of Asanteman, which, according to them, is built on respect for customs and values, and rejected any form of ethnocentrism or disrespect toward their traditional leadership.
“Otumfuo Osei Tutu II's reign has been marked by inclusivity, respect, and progress. His enduring legacy is inseparably tied to the promotion of national unity, and his efforts to foster peace and development have garnered admiration both in Ghana and globally.
“As members of the Asante Professionals Club (APC), we reaffirm our unwavering support and loyalty to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. We urge all peace-loving Ghanaians to join us in rejecting any divisive or ethnocentric rhetoric that seeks to erode the peace, respect, and unity that are the bedrock of our society. Let us work together to build a Ghana where mutual respect, understanding, and harmony flourish across all cultural backgrounds,”the group stated.

We attack Asantes and their monarchy because we are inward looking and jealousy is our trait. As Ndc fanatics, we don't think before we react. We are the Ndc. We have recruited Kevin Taylor and Twene Jonas to insult Asantes. When we come to power we shall demolish the Ashanti Kingdom.
