NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is poised to drive transformative economic changes in Ghana as the leader best positioned to realize the full potential of public-private partnerships, according to Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Minister of Works and Housing.
In an interview with Accra-based GHOne TV's State of Affairs program, Oppong Nkrumah said Bawumia's experience and vision make him the ideal person to take Ghana's economy to the next level.
"Though progress has been made, we recognize the need for bold solutions. Dr. Bawumia's experience and vision make him the ideal leader to drive this transformation," Oppong Nkrumah stated.
The Minister emphasized that collaboration between the public and private sectors will be crucial to achieving more ambitious development goals than what government alone can accomplish.
"We're emphasizing Public Private Partnership (PPP) to leverage the private sector's creativity and financing expertise. This collaboration will enable us to achieve far more than government efforts alone," Oppong Nkrumah explained.
On concerns about trusting the ruling party to deliver on its economic promises, Oppong Nkrumah assured that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is committed to genuine engagement with the private sector that will yield tangible results.
"We understand skepticism, but our commitment to NPP and private sector engagement will yield tangible results. We're poised to tackle long-standing issues and revitalize the economy," he stated.
The Ofoase Ayirebi Member of Parliament declared, "This is a new era for Ghana's economy. We're committed to making NPP work and delivering results. The private sector is crucial to our success."
