Akufo-Addo appoints Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie as CDA Deputy CEO

President Nana Akufo-Addo has appointed Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie to serve as the new Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Coastal Development Authority (CDA), effective May 13, 2024.

The appointment was conveyed in a letter from the Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante.

The letter, dated May 7, indicated that the appointment is pending approval from the CDA's governing board and the Public Services Commission, in accordance with Section 15 of the Coastal Development Authority Act, 2017 (Act 961).

She was directed to respond to the letter with indication as to whether she would accept the appointment or not.

“Pursuant to section 15 of the Coastal Development Authority Act, 2017 (Act 961), I am pleased to inform you that the President of the Republic has appointed you to act as a Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Coastal Development Authority (the "Authority"), pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the governing board of the Authority, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission. Your appointment is effective 130 May, 2024,” read part of the letter.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate you formally on your appointment. Kindy indicate your acceptance or otherwise of this appointment, within 14 days of receipt of this letter,” it added.

Nana Akua Afriyie is a one-time Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North and a former Deputy Ambassador to the Republic of China.
