The Director of Research at the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), Dr. John Kwakye has urged Ghanaians to be bold to hold leaders accountable.
In a series of posts on social media over the weekend, he noted that Ghanaians are docile and timid and allow their leaders to cheat them.
This he argues is not right and Ghanaians must not allow leaders to continue to trample on their rights.
“Ghanaians are docile and timid and allow their leaders to cheat them and trample on their rights with impunity. Let's be bold to call our leaders out for what they are and hold them accountable,” Dr. John Kwakye shared in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Dr. John Kwakye further admonishes Ghanaians to be aware of political economics who only look out for their interests at the expense of the good of the citizenry.
He said, “Ghanaians must beware of political economists who distort economics to suit their political ends. Ghanaians must listen to professional, nonpolitical economists.”
Meanwhile, Dr. John Kwakye has backed former President John Dramani Mahama’s 24-hour economy idea.
He insists that if properly planned, it will benefit Ghana in so many ways.
