A total of 169 new officer cadets reported to the Ghana Military Academy (GMA) to begin their basic military training.
The intake, called Regular Career Course 63, consists of 144 male and 25 female cadets from the Ghana Army, Navy and Air Force.
According to the report provided by GMA, the cadets "have reported to officially commence their basic military training for a duration of fifteen (15) months."
The reception ceremony involved initial administrative procedures and medical examination to welcome the new class.
“The reception formality was primarily characterized by initial documentation, medicals, and the inspection of kits recommended by the academy," the report stated.
As part of getting acquainted with academy processes, the Physical Training cell organized a 2-kilometer fitness test to evaluate the physical preparedness of the cadets, the report detailed.
