The ASA Savings and Loans Limited on Thursday, May 18 donated one computer set and ten ceiling fans to Tarkwa Islamic Basic School at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana at a cost of GHS6,700.00.
The items will benefit the 20 teachers and 436 pupils in the school.
At the short presentation, the Area Manager of the company, Mr. Md Nasimul Islam said, there was a need for this donation as it forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibilities.
According to him, education is the backbone of the nation.
“No nation can prosper without education. There is no substitute for education if every nation is to reach the pinnacle of development. The mainstay of vertebrates is their spine. Man cannot stand up straight without his spine, he cannot walk back and forth, and he cannot use force in any work. Similarly, education is very important for a nation. We are very glad to help the school. We believe that if a nation will be educated then the country will prosper,” he said.
As a company, Mr. Md. Nasimul Islam said it has always been their priority to meet the needs of their stakeholders through CSR to foster developmental change in living standards.
