Thank you Mahama for making journalists feel safe when you were president — Manasseh Azure

Award-winning Ghanaian investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni is marking his ten years anniversary in the practice this year.

In a post on social media, the Editor-in-Chief of the Fourth Estate has extended appreciation to former President John Dramani Mahama.

Despite the many exposés including the Ford Expedition scandal, according to him, he felt safe as a journalist during the reign of the former President just as many other investigative journalists and civil society groups.

“It's my 10th anniversary as an investigative journalist. I do not take it for granted that under John Mahama's presidency, journalists and civil society groups felt very safe and secure to do critical journalism and activism. Thank you, Mr. President,” Manasseh Azure Awuni said.

Meanwhile, Manasseh Azure Awuni is this year launching a book on investigative journalism.

Last week, he announced that the book will be launched on March 9 at Christ the King Parish Hall opposite the Jubilee House.
