A trade mission between Brazil and Ghana to increase export to and from both countries has been held in Ghana on Monday, April 11.
The week long activity is expected to see a boost in trade relations between both countries through new business partnerships and existence of old ones.
Speaking to participants at the opening ceremony, the Deputy CEO of the Ghana Investments and Promotion Centre (GIPC), Yaw Amoateng Afriyie stated that, the missions was important as it would allow participants explore business opportunities and build networks of buyers, suppliers and others.
According to him, Brazil was a strategic market that offers an array of opportunities to the Ghanaian market.
He encouraged the participating businesses to take advantage of some of the prospects the Brazilian missions bring to Ghana.

In an interview with Modern Ghana News, he said “we are welcoming Brazilian companies to Ghana, not just to come and dump their products, but those products will find joint venture partnerships.
“We are looking to ensure that Ghanaian companies understand what we are doing here today and they come and meet one on one with these Brazilian companies.
“The Brazilian companies are here for one week, they are looking to establish partnerships, they’re looking to bring their products into the market which means that there’s a business partnership, and a joint venture is formed so it’s not a one way street.

“In the near term, we can’t speak for companies and their business strategies, but we at GIPC encourage that companies establish here, that is where the investment drive comes in so in as much as we are looking for Ghanaians to partner, we also want Brazilian companies to be able to establish in Ghana and do proper business under correct joint venture structures that we will regulate.”
The trade mission from Brazil to Ghana is the third so far.
Participants have the opportunity to network and engage one on one with their Brazil counterparts.
The mission will last from today, April 11, to Friday April, 15.
