Youngest retired artiste Spio Jungo appointed to Fantafest 2026 planning committee

Ghanaian creative entrepreneur Francis Spio Jungo has been appointed as a member of the Planning Committee for FanteFest 2026, scheduled to take place in London on September 26, 2026.

Jungo, who has been described as one of Ghana's youngest artistes to retire from music after a relatively short career, has since transitioned into event organisation and other behind-the-scenes activities within the entertainment industry.

His music career began in February 2011 when he released his first official song. However, he retired from music in 2016, barely five years after beginning his career.

Rather than leaving the entertainment industry altogether, Jungo shifted his focus to event organisation, where he has been involved in creating platforms and opportunities for young and emerging musicians.

Through his work, he has supported upcoming artistes and contributed to initiatives aimed at giving new talents greater visibility, opportunities to perform on bigger platforms and avenues to advance their careers.

Jungo is also the Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Promotions, the organisation behind the Central Music Awards (CMA), an initiative that recognises and celebrates music talents from Ghana's Central Region.

His appointment to the FanteFest 2026 Planning Committee adds to his growing involvement in Ghana's creative and events industry.

With experience as a former artiste, event organiser and supporter of emerging talent, Jungo is expected to contribute his industry knowledge and organisational skills to the planning of the London-based event.

His journey from releasing his first song in 2011 to retiring from music in 2016 and subsequently building a career behind the scenes highlights his continued involvement in the entertainment industry beyond performing.
