“I’m not dead” – Kwame Dzokoto breaks silence on rumours

Veteran Ghanaian actor and broadcaster Kwame Dzokoto has dismissed rumours of his death, revealing that he is alive but currently dealing with some health challenges.

Speaking on B.E. TV, the Efiewura star said his health has been a concern in recent times, but stressed that he is recovering and urged the public not to believe reports claiming he had died.

“I’m not dead,” Kwame Dzokoto said, while explaining that he has been battling conditions including high blood pressure and diabetes.

The actor, who has appeared in the popular television series Efiewura and is currently playing a role in Osumesi, said he has undergone surgery outside the country after receiving support from President Ibrahim Mahama.

According to him, he is feeling better following the procedure and believes some of the health challenges he is experiencing are also part of the realities of ageing.

Kwame Dzokoto is known not only for acting but also for his work in radio and television, as well as his involvement in politics. He said his career has evolved from presentation into management, but radio remains particularly close to his heart.

“I love doing radio,” he said, explaining that radio gives presenters a unique connection with audiences because listeners generally do not see their physical movements or mannerisms.

He said he believes audiences appreciate his presentation style and that has pushed him to constantly come up with fresh ideas to keep listeners engaged.

“When I’m on air, psychologically, I feel I’m the only one they are listening to,” he said.

Kwame Dzokoto also spoke about his background, noting that his father is Ewe while his mother is Fante. He grew up largely with his mother in a fishing community in Sekondi.

Beyond his career, the actor said he believes having a free mind and serving others sincerely can open unexpected opportunities.

He maintained that people who live and serve with a free mind can earn the love and respect of others, adding that God can open special doors for such people.

For now, Kwame Dzokoto says he is recovering and remains grateful to those who have shown concern about his wellbeing.

“I’m not dead,” he reiterated.
