Popular Ghanaian musician Kofi Kinaata has released a new single titled “Effiakuma Love,” in which he expresses his desire to find a life partner from his hometown in Effiakuma.
Kinaata, known for hits like “Things Fall Apart,” recently posted on Facebook, “I’m looking for my Effiakuma Love,” alongside a photo of himself smiling at someone off-camera.
The post has gone viral, with many female fans offering themselves up as candidates and some also wishing the singer good luck in his search.
The new song, “Effiakuma Love,” praises a woman from Effiakuma, a suburb of Takoradi, the Western Regional capital, who Kinaata hopes to have in his life.
While fans initially thought the song addressed relationships in a general sense, Kinaata's Facebook post suggests he had his own love life in mind.
Kinaata has become one of Ghana's most prominent highlife artists, earning numerous honors including multiple Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
However, not much is publicly known about the singer's personal relationships which make many believe he is now looking for one.
His latest single and social media post give a rare glimpse into Kinaata's hopes of finding a lifelong partner from his hometown.
The subtle reveal of the personal motivation behind “Effiakuma Love” on Facebook is also by itself, a clever promotional move by Kinaata to push his song to a wider audience.
