Ghana international Abdul Baba Rahman made the much anticipated Chelsea debut in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
The former Kotoko player who transferred to the London club from Augsburg in the summer window had sat out of all Chelsea game prior to the Premier League Champions' opening fixture in the 2015/2016 UEFA Champions League.
Jose Mourinho handed Baba Rahman a start in his first game for Chelsea shirt against Maccabi Tel Aviv as the Stamford Bridge outfit cruised to a convincing 4-0 victory.
Chelsea who have had a poor start to the defence of their English Premier League title feared for the worst against Maccabi Tel Aviv after Eden Hazard missed a penalty in the 6 minute.
Willian however opened the scoring for home team Chelsea with a free-kick eleven minutes after the penalty loss.
Oscar took on the penalty duties to put Chelsea 2-0 up on the stroke of half time when the home side were awarded the second spot kick in the game.
Diego Costa put a superb one in the top corner of the Maccabi Tel Aviv net before Cesc Fabregas tapped into an open net in the second half to give Chelsea a 4-0 victory on the night.
Abdul Baba Rahman played in the full duration of the game without a booking.
