Black Stars goalkeeper prospect Paul Reverson has expressed confidence in Ghana's chances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting the four-time African champions have what it takes to reach the semi-finals and potentially go even further in the tournament.
Ghana will be making their fifth appearance at the World Cup when the competition kicks off across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.
Despite missing out on the final squad after being named in the provisional 28-man roster, Reverson remains optimistic about the team's prospects at the global showpiece.
The highly-rated Ajax goalkeeper hopeful believes Ghana possesses the quality to make a deep run and surpass their previous World Cup achievements.
“I think Ghana can reach the semi-finals and even further," Reverson told 3Sports.
The Black Stars are aiming to improve on their recent World Cup performances after suffering group-stage exits at the 2014 tournament in Brazil and the 2022 edition in Qatar.
Ghana will begin their 2026 World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field before facing England at Gillette Stadium on June 23. Their final Group L fixture will be against Croatia on June 27.
