Executive Director of the Ghana Centre for Democratic Development ( CDD-Ghana), Prof H. Kwasi Prempeh, has registered his displeasure with an awards ceremony for ministers of the current Government of the National Democratic Congress(NDC).
The scheme – Ministers of State Awards – was organized by a private entity in Accra yesterday to award deserving ministers and appointees of the current Government.
But reacting to news of the ceremony, Prof Prempeh described it as nonsense of the highest order.
Many other citizens, including activists of the governing National Democratic Congress(NDC) have criticised ministers for showing up to receive awards, especially at a time Accra is hit with flooding.
Others have questioned the credibility of the awards scheme and its usefulness.
