Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo believes Ghana’s highly anticipated meeting with England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be one of the tournament’s standout attractions.
The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia for the expanded World Cup, which will be staged across the United States, Canada and Mexico this summer.
Speaking to Manchester City’s media team, Semenyo expressed excitement about facing the Three Lions, describing the fixture as a challenge the entire nation is eager to embrace.
“It’s just exciting, just ready for the challenge. As a nation, we are looking forward to it. It’s going to be entertaining, and we are looking forward to it,” Semenyo said.
Semenyo has enjoyed an impressive season at club level, finding the net 12 times in the league to underline his growing influence in City’s attack.
He is expected to feature when Manchester City travel to Anfield to face Liverpool in a league showdown on Sunday, February 8.
Ghana will open their World Cup campaign against Panama on June 17, before the much-anticipated clash with England on June 23. The Black Stars will round off their group-stage fixtures against Croatia on June 27.
