Two soldiers have been hospitalized at the Tamale Teaching Hospital following the explosion of gun powder they were carrying in their vehicles.
One other soldier has been discharged, Public Relations Officer of the Northern Region Police ASP Ebenezer Tetteh told JOYNEWS.
The gun power was seized from a group of musketeers who were firing at a funeral over the weekend at Yendi. There is a ban on the use of firearms and explosives.
“Unfortunately on their way to their base, the gun powder exploded”, the PRO explained.
The Police are yet to establish the circumstances that led to the explosion. ASP Ebenezer Tetteh said the musketeers would also be arrested.
