Easter is derives from Eostre, Eastur, Ostara,Ostar, terms used by the Norseme(ancient Scandinavians) to refer to the season of the rising sun.
Easter is the death and the resurrection of JESUS CHRIST and is often celebrated by Christians. Christians believe that Easter season is a period of regeneration and a time to start new life since their sins have been washed away by the crucifixion of the Son of God called JESUS CHRIST.
A week before the Easter Sunday, Christians normally go to church waving palm branches and chanting hosanna! Hosanna! meaning, the Triumphant coming of Jesus Christ to Jerusalem.
Friday 29th March is said to be the saddest day for most Christians because it is the day that JESUS CHRIST was crucify and killed. Some churches organized Easter conventions to commemorate this festival.
Socially, people also believe that Easter festival is a period to reconcile with your enemies and to establish new friendship.
They have also conceptualized an idea that Easter is a period in which community members come together to raise fund to support their community. For Christians, on the day of the resurrection ie.Sunday 31st March, the dress code is normally White or Grey, depicting the resurrection of Christ. Well cook dishes are often prepared and served with soft drinks; in fact I wish you were to be in any of this Christians home to witness the merry making on that D day.
Some philanthropy's, pursue their philanthropic activities such as donating items and money to Hospitals, Children's Home, the needy etc. Some organizations also render social service such as Free health care for community people and Cleaning exercise at various advantages point in the community.
Fallaciously, some people misconstrue the concept of this festival, they practice all sort of immoral acts such as , Adultery, careless driving, Drinking, Over speeding, Fighting etc, and according to this people, they believe that, Easter is just a period for one to enjoy him/her self after a hectic season of working. Is undeniable fact that Easter is a period of refreshing oneself and merry- making but not to such a limit where this youth have arrival.
Easter is a festival which is Holy and therefore must be celebrated with decency and respect.
