Accra, Feb. 26, GNA - A church without the presence of God is a mere entertainment court, Apostle Alfred Koduah, General Secretary of the Church of Pentecost has said.
'We can buy all the musical instruments, give offering and engage in all kinds of activities, but without His presence, we will only engage in lukewarm service. We need nothing less than the presence of God', he said.
Apostle Koduah gave this admonishing when he dedicated the newly constructed building of the Sakumono Estates Assembly of the Church (Glory Temple) in Accra on Sunday.
According to him, the days when God's presence was only felt in church buildings had passed.
He said if only believers, who are God's temple, would be filled with His presence, the power of God would be manifested in the church. 'Each of us must allow the presence of God to dwell richly in us, because we represent His temple.'
Apostle Koduah noted that the glory of God always departed from people who loved sin, calling on believers to strive for righteousness and shun evil to maintain His presence.
He called for unity in the country, irrespective of people's political, religious or ethnic differences, stressing the need to maintain justice and honesty.
Pastor Joseph Anenyah Ntoso, Sakumono District Pastor of the Church said the journey of building a temple for the lord had not been an easy one, 'but this is how far God has brought us.'
He said the members understood the act of giving, bearing in mind that it formed an integral part of worship to God.
'Worshipping God in spirit and in truth also entails that we offer our substance to support His work', he said.
The total expenditure of the building was estimated at GH₵ 945, 230.97 and was funded through national and area grants, as well as district and local offerings.
