Mahama's Kids Pop Up

The controversy surrounding the number of children of President John Dramani Mahama has been rekindled with a call on him to come clean.

At a press conference in Accra yesterday, the Young Patriots (YP), a group of young opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) members brought the issue of morality which was initiated by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the front burner.

Chairman of the group, Richard Kwasi Nyamah claimed that the original curriculum vitae of the President indicated he had nine children, but on assumption of office, it has been changed to seven as contained in the September edition of the Africa Watch magazine, describing him as 'untrustworthy, deceitful, unfaithful, corrupt, womanizer and indecisive in the running of the affairs of Ghana.'

This, he said, was evident in the fact that whilst preaching safe sex through the use of condoms and abstinence to prevent the spread of the dreaded HIV/AIDS virus and other sexually transmitted diseases as Chairman of the Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC), Mahama 'the President is practicing the opposite' since 'he is on record to have accepted cheating on his wife on uncountable occasions which led to several many issues outside wedlock.'

If nothing at all, the group said, close allies of the President put the number to not less than 15.

As early as February this year, Richard Nyamah who was flanked by leading members of the YP including John Kumah and tough-talking Yaw Adomako-Baafi claimed 'the President attended a naming ceremony of a new baby at Tema community 3' whilst asking rhetorically 'does the President know about the paternity of the said baby?'

Besides, the group's claim of the President not being able to keep his zip on, they also described him as 'the most corrupt President in the history of Ghana' accusing him of responsibility in the botched STX Korean housing deal which was costing an average of $50,000 for a single room self-contained apartment.

Apart from that, they also talked of the infamous Guma which never was and Snecou deal estimated to cost $77, 000 for a single room self-contained apartment which was currently before Parliament and a host of other alleged shady deals involving him.

They, among other things, sought to know how many children the President had out of wedlock, whether he considered himself a good Christian role model and if he would submit himself to a paternity test if more women came forward claiming to have children with him.
