Accra, Nov. 11, GNA - Accra Brewery Ghana Limited (ABL) has presented 200 cases of its brands towards the 27th Farmers' Day ceremony earmarked for Agona-Nsaba in the Central Region on December 2.
The items worth GH¢ 4, 500 was made up of 20 cases each of Club Premium Lager, Stone Strong Lager, Castle Milk Stout, Club Gold Export Lager, Chairman Malt Liquor, Castle Milk Malt, Club Muscatella, Club Orange, Club Quinine Tonic and Club Soda.
The 27th Farmers' Day ceremony would be on the theme:”Grow More Food; Research for Sustainable Agriculture Development.”
Mrs Adjoba Kyiamah, Corporate and Legal Affairs Director of ABL, who presented the items, said the gesture was to show appreciation to Ghanaian farmers and their significant contribution to Accra Brewery's production and the country's economy.
“Accra Brewery Limited takes great pride in the use of locally grown maize and sorghum in the production of some of our brands particularly Club Premium Lager and Chibuku Shake, hence the need for such donation every year,” she said.
Mrs Kyiamah said ABL is working towards the future to use more locally grown raw materials in existing and new brands.
“It is worth noting that our parent company SABMiller recently launched the world's first commercially produced cassava lager 'Impala' in Mozambique which demonstrated our commitment to using local raw materials in Africa” she added.
Mr Kwesi Ahwoi, Minister of Food and Agriculture, who received the items thanked ABL and other donor organisations for showing concern and recognition towards the work of farmers as well as fisher folk through their contributions towards the Farmers' Day event.
