Yet again, I must write on this Libyan war. As a proud citizen of my continent, Africa, it is with much sadness that I read about the dropping of weapons to the rebels in Libya led by Sarkozy and his cohorts. Some of these military actions if left unchecked will eventually be the cause of another civil unrest in Africa. Never again should we encourage such despicable acts of disrespect to a race and a continent who equally deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. Since this war started, I have clearly stated that as much as I don't appreciate these African leaders who come to power through military means and end up behaving as if they are divine owners of their nations. Some readers are welcome to disagree with me on that since it's only natural. Moving on, I have also stated my disgust at the way the UN and NATO members have been handling these issues in Egypt, Ivory Coast, Libya and Tunisia. Africa has had enough. Enough of the arm-twisting for our resources, people and all the good things our continent is blessed with.
Of course the African Union has once again displayed its impotence as a continental body. We live in an era where leaders on our continent cannot unite in criticizing another as a result of their own incompetence and corruption. African leaders should know that the fate of the African race that's been shared up amongst them is one that cannot be toyed with. They sit in their comfortable villas and play politics with every single issue and by the time they realize the effects of their actions, the continent would have been thrown into another era of chaos with pockets of disturbances spread all over. Gone are the days when Africans did believe in their leaders to not only deliver them from the rule of foreigners but to also deliver some peace and good health from their afflicted past of suffering and war. We the Africans are calling on the AU to unite and get their act together because the people of Africa are not some unreasonable, ignorant fools who just seem to get up, eat and go to bed without any care for the actions of their leaders. The reason why this AU was formed in the first place was so the Organization could represent Africa and responsibly. Your conferences and 'item 13 soap operas' are of no use to us the people. We only care about results. We want to see the AU bucking up and behaving like the strong organization we need them to be. If things continue the way they are, when some nations appoint themselves to try all their newly invented toys on our land under the cover of emancipating the suffering masses, then the AU should be disbanded immediately so that at least we know that our continent is being raped because we have no vanguard. France and his cohorts should know that Africans are not fools.
We are very intelligent people who understand the very reasons why they are doing what they are doing here. We know that we have the unfortunate position of having some rather backward leaders on our continent, leaders who upon seeing the buck will turn around and shoot their own people. That day is coming when all such leaders will be gone. Why doesn't the UN and NATO attack China, Iran or even North Korea?? What sort of human rights are not being abused over there? What sorts of crimes are not being committed by these nations?? Yet when it comes to all matters 'African' , decisions are arrived at in a fortnight and the only thing the AU can do is tag along and complain once the bombing starts and hopefully by the time the fighting is over and innocent Africans have been killed in their own homes, they can come out and make some press conferences!! The leaders of our continent past and present have mainly failed us!
They are a scar on our continent and the Western forces led by France are the cunning traitors who seek to sow seeds of destruction amongst our people so that Africa will always be behind in every aspect. Why will they be giving guns to these alleged rebels in Libya?? Ten years from now, when things have subsided and these rebels are indeed in power; the same people will turn around and tag these rebels as 'terrorists' who need to be destroyed. The vicious cycle of stupidity will thus have been triggered again! Enough is enough! The AU should be seen to be a vanguard of our continent. Why? Iran has been a problem since time immemorial? Why is a different law applied to Africa and another law applied to the rest of the world? We are watching our African leaders carefully and we already know those African leaders that are compromised. It is about time that the youth of Africa wake up and take their leaders to task. There should be peaceful demonstrations and protests on the street calling for the occupation of Libya to cease! There should be peaceful demonstrations calling for the African leaders to sit up! Those days of people running for office just to fill their bellies and enrich themselves and their cronies should be left in the past. Africa should not be made to wallow in debt and destruction every single decade! Can't we have at least ONE peaceful decade in Africa? Is that too much to ask from our corrupt leaders?? Why can't Africa rise and ask these necessary questions?? Why are there no wars on French soil? Because those who dare to take it to them are tagged as terrorists! We all do no welcome terrorists but why can they come to Africa and do as they please breaking all sorts of UN resolutions with impunity?!! Our media in Africa is being choked from all angles since our continent is flout with too many problems to keep our media busy but it is with this same situation that certain external forces are penetrating and injecting more fuel in what I still call the vicious cycle of stupidity in Africa! We need a change and it must start by voting out some of the non performing leaders. China is also in there making its move as it tries to increase its hoard of natural resources 'in any way possible'. All these nations find us so stupid and powerless to their generous bribes that are exchanging hands all over the corridors of state institutions and government officials. Africans need to ask questions and stop complaining when it's too late. Why is there no serious move being made by the AU?? Where are the Kofi Annans? What are they doing as they watch Ban Ki Moon disgrace himself over and over again as African nations are being thumped with grenades again and again. When will this mayhem stop?? It is about time Africans stopped the "God dey" attitude and get up and start questioning their leaders. Africa will be much stronger if we are allowed to have just ONE decade of non-interference and allow us to carve our own future and to be able to develop our institutions ESPECIALLY the AU with no influence from these external forces who have a vested interest to keep us in chaos and disorder. All these distractions make it easy for them to do whatever they want.
The AU is a failure and as an African I have never really seen their use since they are powerless in helping the continent of Africa when there is any disturbance on our continent. It is only when you cannot take good care and protect your own territory that others can come in and do whatever they want on it. Well at present the continent is being prepared for the next decade. In the next ten years there is going to be political chaos in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia and probably many more. The seeds are being sown now. African leaders should wake up and put a stop to this or they should just tell the African continent that they are powerless in the face of external invasion when our continent is in need of their services.
The youth of today should watch the world stage and think deeply about what the future has in store for us. Are we always going to be the continent that tags behind everyone else? Since 1978 when Deng Xiao Ping in China decided enough is enough and China took it upon themselves to set up their own system to rival any other system in the world, they have made such wonderful strides especially in the area of their economy. Politically, they may still have some way to go but that nation has been able to play the West at their own game and beat them so hard that till date, Western scholars are still reeling and trying to figure out what happened with China and how they got to where they are. African leaders need to be wise and rise up to its own challenges and instead of being the main stumbling blocks to the continents full development potential. My message to you African leaders is that, as much as you may be taking this continent for a ride with all your corruption and disloyal practices, that day is coming when it will be your turn to face the full vim of the anger of us Africans. You are the main reason why Africans are where we are today. You sign up to all sorts of agreements without reading in between the lines, you keep putting your nations in steep debt and the future generation is already assured of a future of debts to pay and yet you and your fat imbeciles enrich yourselves and take all the wealth of this continent and give it for free to foreign nations as a result of their bribes. That day is coming when Africans will rise up against all the corrupt regimes and make them accountable. Africans should stop focusing all their energies on infantile partisan politicking and put their nation's development first. Remember with each day of dodging reality and lying just to aid your individual political party agendas, you are indirectly contributing to the death of your fellow citizen or African brother. Any bribe you take will cause harm to someone somewhere and I hope we can all fight for our nations and fight to choose upright leaders who will be selfless and fight for this continent. We should take the future of our nation into our own hands and mould it 'our way'! Long live Africans everywhere and may the good Lord bless mother Africa with capable and selfless leaders!! Why is the President of Fance hiding somewhere in Paris and ordering God forbidden Bombs to be dropped on Africans. He should come to Africa himself to fight if he is a man.
