A second year pupil of Ansuaa Ababio Junior High School at Dormaa-Ahenkro in Brong Ahafo has appeared before a circuit court for allegedly inflicting deep cutlass wounds on his cousin.
The suspect allegedly slashed his cousin's left arm during an argument over an unwashed bowl.
The court, presided over by Mr. Justice V.C. Senu, rejected the accused's plea and imposed a GH¢4,000 bail bond on him with a surety to be justified.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector M.K. Yeboah told the court that the complainant, a welder and the accused lived in the same house at Koraso in Dormaa-Ahenkro.
On October 19 last year, the complainant asked the boy to clean a plate but this degenerated in a hot argument during which the accused slashed the left arm of his cousin with a cutlass, almost severing it.
The complainant was rushed to Presbyterian hospital at Dormaa Ahenkro and later referred to the regional hospital in Sunyani.
Chief Inspector Yeboah said the boy sought refuge at Kasapin in Asunafo North municipality but was later arrested and charged with the offence.
