The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a temporary power outage in parts of the Accra West Region to allow for emergency maintenance works aimed at improving service delivery.
The exercise is scheduled for today, Friday, June 19, and is expected to affect electricity supply in several communities within the region.
According to ECG, the planned maintenance took place between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
In a public notice, the power distribution company said the exercise forms part of efforts to enhance the reliability of electricity supply.
“ECG will undertake emergency maintenance works to improve service delivery. This will result in a temporary outage,” the statement said.
The company listed the affected areas as parts of Broadcasting, Azuma, SCC, Sunny Coast, Arthur Moses, Mountain View, parts of Kinshasha and surrounding communities.
Residents and businesses within the affected locations have been advised to take the necessary precautions during the maintenance period.
The utility provider indicated that power supply would be restored immediately after the completion of the works.
“Affected areas: Parts of Broadcasting, Azuma, SCC, Sunny Coast, Arthur Moses, Mountain View, Parts of Kinshasha, and surrounding areas,” ECG stated.
“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the statement added.
