The African Security and Development Forum (ASDEF) on Monday congratulated Alhaji Khuzaima Mohammed Osman, the Executive Secretary of Tijjaniya Muslims of Ghana, on his appointment as the Taffidan Hausan Africa and Europe by the African Chiefdom and Council, Arewarmu Duniyarmu.

The African Chiefdom decorated Alhaji Osman, who is also an Eminent Member and Chairman of the Finance and Fundraising Committee of the Greater Accra Regional Peace Council – The National Peace Council of Ghana – during its 9th Annual General Meeting on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Abuja, Nigeria.

In a congratulatory statement copied to the Modern Ghana News in Accra and signed by Yarima Awal Me-lafia, the Coordinator of ASDEF Europe and Chairman of the Organising Committee of the International Zango Hall of Fame Awards commended Alhaji Osman for his meritorious service.

The statement said the ASDEF joins other organisations, including the Friends of West Africa – the West Network, based in London; the Tijjaniya Muslims Movement of Ghana; and the families of Danbukar-Samorey and the Imam Mohammed Abbas (Mazawaje) in Accra, to acknowledge the honour bestowed on Alhaji Osman.

While extending their warmest congratulations, the groups lauded Alhaji Osman, who is also the ASDEF Executive Director, for his dedication to the sub-region and expressed confidence that his influence in Europe and America will further bridge the gap between the diaspora and their African roots.

The ASDEF stated that Alhaji Osman has been a pillar in the Islamic world and across it, showcasing his commitment to promoting the Hausa language and culture globally.

“We believe that these recognitions reflect the council's commitment to promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development across Africa and acknowledgement of prominent members who continue to play a vital role in fostering inclusiveness and development among diverse communities,” ASDEF stated.

The official appointment letter was jointly signed by Ambassador Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna, the Sarkin Hausawan Tukulma in Nigeria who is the National Chairman, and Alhaji Suleiman Isah Darma, the National Secretary.

In his new capacity as Taffida, Alhaji Osman assumes the vital role of Global Ambassador of Hausa and is responsible for marketing and promoting the Hausa language and its rich cultural heritage across the continents of Africa and Europe.

This role is in addition to the traditional administrative and leadership responsibilities inherent to the Taffida title.

The African Security and Development Forum urges the general public, diplomatic missions, and cultural institutions to accord Alhaji Khuzaima Osman the respect and cooperation befitting his new office.

“We wish him a successful and impactful tenure as he embarks on this noble journey of cultural diplomacy,” the statement stated.
