Dr Joseph Siaw Agyepong, Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies, has saluted the tireless contributions of workers and stakeholders, describing them as the “lifeline of any organisation" and the bedrock of Ghana’s economic and social progress.
Speaking in an interview with Modern Ghana News on Friday, as Ghana joins the world to mark May Day under the global call for dignity, innovation, and shared prosperity, Dr Agyepong expressed profound appreciation to the staff of the Jospong Group, private sector partners, government agencies, and district assemblies for their unwavering commitment to national development.
The Jospong Group executive chairman underscored that sustainable organisational growth is impossible without the dedication of its workforce.
Dr Siaw Agyepong noted: “Workers are the lifeline of any organisation. They are not just employees; they are the drivers of our vision, the custodians of our values, and the reason Jospong Group has grown from a modest printing operation in 1995 to a multinational entity active in other African countries.”
He emphasised the importance of unity and resolute commitment among workers to achieve the company's goals and stressed that the Jospong Group is committed to making significant contributions to Ghana's national development agenda, particularly in the environmental sanitation sector, as it establishes integrated recycling and composting plants across the country.
He noted that the Jospong Group’s success across sanitation, waste management, ICT, banking, education, hospitality and other sectors is directly tied to the sacrifice, discipline, and innovation of its people.
“Leadership is about responsibility. It’s about preparing the next generation with capacity, strength, and passion. But none of that happens without the daily work of our staff,” he added.
Dr Siaw Agyepong emphasised the Jospong Group’s core values of stewardship and people-focus, urging all employers and social partners to prioritise the welfare of workers, including retirees.
He called for mutual respect, camaraderie, and a culture of unconditional love and forgiveness in the workplace.
“Ensuring a conducive working environment remains essential for productivity and industrial harmony,” he said.
As the global community marks the 2026 May Day, Dr Siaw Agyepong noted that “the next generation of strategic thinkers and managing directors must not emerge accidentally; it must be intentional and intentionally developed”.
Dr Siaw Agyepong used the occasion for the 2026 May Day commemoration to reaffirm the Jospong Group’s mission of “turning Africa’s sanitation challenges into engines of growth” through innovation, employment, and sustainable development.
He said, “Waste is not just a challenge—it is an opportunity for innovation, employment, and sustainable development.”
Dr Siaw Agyepong noted: “We grow through partnerships. Nobody does anything alone anymore. Together we continue to move our dear country to the economic and social development height we all desire."
He emphasised the importance of unity and resolute commitment among workers to achieve the company's goals.
Dr Siaw Agyepong said the Jospong Group will continue to invest in building the human capital of the country to ensure that the Ghanaian workforce remains relevant in the fast-growing digitisation world.
He also reiterated that the Jospong Group is committed to making significant contributions to Ghana and Africa's development agenda, particularly in the environmental sanitation sector.
