Ho MCE laments poor audit findings on zonal councils, pledges full implementation of recommendations

Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ho, Hon. Stephen Adom, has expressed concern over the findings of an internal audit into the operations of the five Zonal Councils under the Ho Municipal Assembly, describing the outcome as “not pleasant at all.”

Addressing the General Assembly Meeting on Monday, Hon. Adom said the Assembly instituted the audit to review the operations and accountability of the Zonal Councils. He assured members that the recommendations from the audit probe would be fully implemented, stressing that anyone found culpable would face the full rigors of the law.

“There will be no sacred goat(s),” the MCE declared, reaffirming his commitment to transparency and accountability in the management of public resources at the sub-district level.

In a more positive development, Hon. Adom announced the completion and commissioning of a modern office complex for the Norvisi Zonal Council at Tokokoe as part of efforts to deepen decentralization and bring governance closer to the people.

The MCE said the new facility is fully furnished and has already been put to use, noting that it marks another step in strengthening local governance structures within the municipality.

He expressed optimism that the office would serve its intended purpose and enhance service delivery to residents of the zone while improving coordination between the Zonal Council and the Assembly.

Hon. Adom however reiterating the Assembly’s resolve to ensure that all public institutions under its jurisdiction operate efficiently, transparently, and in the best interest of the people of Ho.
