Ho Assembly opens inner roads to boost access and development

The Ho Municipal Assembly has commenced progressive inner-road opening and rehabilitation works aimed at improving accessibility and accelerating development across the municipality.

Mr Stephen Adom, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ho, who announced this, said the exercise formed part of a strategic effort to improve the road network and facilitate smooth movement, particularly within densely populated and developing communities.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview, Mr Adom said the initiative would enhance connectivity and ease both vehicular and pedestrian movement within the municipality.

He said work was currently ongoing on the Barracks–Newtown to Kharistar School stretch, extending to the CK Road corridor, where construction teams were reshaping access routes to address long-standing challenges associated with poor road conditions and congestion.

“This initiative is aimed at improving accessibility, reducing traffic congestion, and supporting socio-economic development across Ho,” he stated.

Mr Adom explained that the road opening exercise would significantly improve connectivity between communities, making transportation more efficient for commercial, social, and domestic activities.

The MCE disclosed that the project would be rolled out in phases to cover additional areas to ensure wider impact and inclusiveness.

“We are committed to opening up more communities, especially hard-to-reach areas, to promote inclusive development and improve service delivery,” he added.

Mr Adom called on residents in affected areas to cooperate fully with project teams and observe all safety guidelines to ensure the smooth execution of the works.

He also expressed appreciation to residents for their patience and cooperation and reaffirmed the Assembly's commitment to building a modern, accessible, and development-oriented municipality.
