The elders and youth of the Kusasi community in the Greater Accra Region have called on their people to close ranks and unite behind the recognised chief, Muhammad Ibrahim Sungtaaba.
At a press conference in Accra, the leaders stressed that Chief Sungtaaba’s authority had already been affirmed through the traditional process, describing the decision as conclusive and binding.
They cautioned that any attempts to contest his legitimacy or stir division risked weakening the very institutions that safeguard Kusasi traditions.
The elders urged members of the community to embrace unity and channel their energy into building stronger bonds among Kusasis in Accra and across the country. “When we stand together as one people, we can better preserve our culture, resolve challenges peacefully, and build a stronger future,” they said.
The youth wing echoed the call, warning that disunity and disregard for traditional authority could erode the dignity of the Kusasi people. They appealed to those harbouring grievances to put them aside in the interest of peace and development.
The press conference ended with a firm pledge by both elders and youth to rally behind Chief Muhammad Ibrahim Sungtaaba and to promote harmony within the community.
