Colonel Isaac Amponsah, Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has resumed his duties just four days after collapsing during the president’s final State of the Nation Address (SONA) in Parliament.
The incident, which occurred on Friday, January 3, 2025, drew significant public attention, raising discussions about medical fitness tests of personnel and emergency medical response measures in the country.
Colonel Amponsah, who was standing behind the President collapsed.
Despite the scare, a video shared by Citi FM 97.3 on X showed the ADC back in action. The footage captured Colonel Amponsah walking with the President and later seated during a courtesy visit by service chiefs of the Ghana Armed Forces, led by Chief of Defense Staff General Thomas Oppong-Peprah.
Colonel Amponsah has been serving as President Akufo-Addo's ADC since February 2023, after replacing Major-General Bismark Onwona.
Before his appointment, he held senior positions, including Chief Instructor at the Military Training Academy and roles at the Defence Intelligence Unit at General Headquarters.
The sighting of the ADC back at post reassures the public about his recovery, following an incident that briefly disrupted proceedings in Parliament.
