The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that a power outage affecting parts of the Accra West region is due to a faulty transformer.
The disruption, which occurred on Saturday, May 2, has left several households and businesses without electricity in the affected areas.
The areas include Akramaman Asantewaa, Pokuase Amanfrom SDA, James Town Grand View Clinic, Nsakina Mega School area, and surrounding communities.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana, Accra West Region, wishes to inform our cherished customers and the general public in the underlisted areas that the outage being experienced is as a result of a fault on the transformer that serves your community,” the statement read in part.
ECG assured customers that engineers have been deployed to address the fault and restore power as quickly as possible.
“ECG wishes to assure affected customers that our Engineers are working to rectify the fault and restore supply,” the company added.
The power distributor also apologised for the inconvenience caused and urged residents to remain patient as repair works continue.
