As Education is important, Teachers Welfare is equally important-Ato Forson

The Minister of Finance and the MP for Ajumako Enyan Essiam Constituency, Casiel Ato Baah Forson, has acknowledged the contribution of Ghanaian workers to the development of the country.

"In as much as education is important, the welfare of the teachers is equally important, which was why the current school building being built by the government comes with teachers accommodation.

The Minister said this in a speech read on his behalf at this year's Regional May Day Celebration hosted by AEED.

The Central Regional Minister, Ekow Panyin Okyere, emphasized that the growth of the country depended on the commitment, dedication and the selflessness of her workers.

He said even as the government acknowledged their contributions, upholding integrity, excellence and accountability to government properties was also important.

According to him the government is committed to supporting medium term enterprises, and Vocational Training, adding that sustainable development goes beyond employment, but dignity in work and job security for development.

The Hon. DCE Andrews Kojo Duodoo commended the workers for their hard work and encouraged them to pursue hard work," don't think of only what you will eat today but think of the future, what the district and the country would need to develop.

He Called on them for attitudinal change, adding that the workload rests on Ghanaian workers and not politicians.

According to the Central Regional Chairman of Organized Labour, Mr.Joseph Asamoah Munoo, Ghanaian workers can not take stability to the market,thus they need permanent jobs not casual, a living wage that reflects prices on the market, hence, the choosing of this year's theme:Pivoting to Growth,
