Tragedy struck in James Town yesterday's evening Friday, September 27 when the chief priest of Ngleshie Alata was shot dead in a violent clash between two rival factions.
Reports receieved yesterday by ModernGhana News say the deceased, Nii Ayitey Konko, was reportedly caught in the crossfire between the two groups.
Details of the clash are still emerging, but sources indicate that tensions had been simmering between the factions for some time.
The dispute allegedly escalated into violence, resulting in this evening's clash.
The motive behind the clash and the shooting is still unclear.
The body of the chief priest has been deposited at the morgue.
