The Cecilia Asare Memorial Temple of the Church of Pentecost (COP) in the Kunka district of Obuasi was dedicated to the glory of God on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

The magnificent GH¢1,247,230.00 worth building was funded by the Headquarters National grant, area grant, District support, local offerings, and individual donations.

The temple was named after the late Deaconess Cecilia Asare, one of the founding members of the local Church who dedicated her life to serving God.

The event was attended by Reverend ministers, church elders, traditional leaders, family members of the late Deaconess Cecilia Asare, and other notable guests.

In his sermon, Prophet David Kankam Beditor emphasized that the church is God's family, and that God builds the church to train and prepare His children for good works.

Prophet Beditor praised the late Deaconess Cecilia Asare for her dedication to God's work and sacrifices to ensure the church's success in its current location.

He highlighted instances where she had to sell her belongings to support God's work. He urged Christians to emulate her exemplary life and strive to leave a good name and legacy.

He also seized the opportunity to advise Ghanaians to preach peace ahead of the impending elections in December, emphasizing that elections should not be a recipe for chaos and violence.

He encouraged Christians to leave a good name and legacy.

A son of the late Deaconess Cecilia Asare, Daniel Asare thanked the church for honoring their mother's memory, stating that it is a testament to the church's recognition of good work and sacrifices. He shared that his late mother dedicated most of her life to serving the Lord and was always available to offer her savings to God.
