The Upper East Regional Command of the Ghana Immigration Service commissioned two newly built offices for the Tempane and Garu districts over the weekend.
Theophilus Nii Laryea, the Upper East Regional Commander of the Ghana Immigration Service, who officiated the commissioning, praised two officers who initiated the construction projects.
The new offices are expected to significantly enhance border security in the region.
During a brief commissioning ceremony at Touboung, a border community in the Tempane district, the regional commander expressed gratitude to the two officers, ASL Erasmus Atse and ASST INSP Alhassan Abdul-Rauf, for initiating and overseeing the projects to their completion.
The Commander appealed to individuals and institutions within the area to mobilize resources for the construction of more structures.
Mr. Laryea encouraged other officers to emulate the exemplary efforts of the two officers.
The districts of Garu and Tempane both share a border with Togo, featuring numerous unapproved routes. Until now, these districts lacked proper offices, making the initiative by the two officers a significant improvement for the region.
