ASKY Airlines announces 3x weekly flights to Luanda

Passengers travelling from Accra, Ghana to Angola’s capital Luanda will now be able to fly three times (3x) per week on Asky Airlines.

The Luanda flights which start on August 2, will be operated via ASKY’s hub in Lomé, Togo on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

AviationGhana sources confirmed that the airline will be operating one of the Boeing 737 MAXs recently leased from AerCap Holdings N.V., on the Lomé-Luanda route.

The new service will deepen intra-regional and intra-Africa connectivity, and help to better connect West, Central, and Southern Africa on ASKY for business, trade, and tourism purposes following the temporal withdrawal of TAAG Angola from the Ghanaian market.

TAAG Angola suspended flights to Ghana’s capital Accra in March 2023, after a few months of operations. TAAG Angola’s maiden flight to Accra touched down at the Kotoka International Airport on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. ASKY hopes to fill this void and future demand with the planned launch of flights to oil-rich Luanda.
