Victory Message From Manhyia North NPP Candidate-Elect Akwasi Konadu

I am extremely humbled that delegates have elected me to represent the great New Patriotic Party as its parliamentary candidate for Manhyia North Constituency for the 2020 general elections. It is God who made this happen; and we give him all the glory.

We thank the leadership of the party, at all levels, and in particular, the Manhyia North Constituency leadership, for successfully organising these elections. We are also extremely grateful to the Electoral Commission, the security agencies and all the delegates for their good work in making these elections free, fair and peaceful. The professionalism you have all shown in conducting yesterday’s election is exceptional, considering the challenging situation we find ourselves in because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is not my victory; but the victory of the people of our great party and of Manhyia North. The journey did not begin today. It began 8 years ago when my elders and I took the decision to seek my people’s mandate to represent our constituency in Parliament. We kept the faith all these years because of our unwavering desire to contribute to national development and to seek the advancement of Manhyia North.

It has been a long journey with lots of ups and downs. However, the friendships and relationships we have built and nurtured along the way have made it worthwhile. The dedication, commitment, support and sacrifice as well as the outpouring of love that so many people have shown since we started this journey have been immense and continue to overwhelm me. There have been people who believed in the dream and the vision from day one, and have been by my side ever since. This victory is dedicated to you. You did it!

To the population of Manhyia North. You have been clamouring for change; the change is here! We have heard your cries, and are determined to move this constituency forward.

Together with my team, I thank Honourable Collins Amankwah and his team for such a keen contest. I take this opportunity to reach out to him and his team as well as all members and sympathisers of our great party in the constituency. We are one big family; and I trust that we will all continue to work together to strengthen the party and develop the constituency.

This election is not the end. It is the beginning. There is a lot of work to be done for the party, and we can only succeed if we work together as one big elephant 🐘 family. The 2020 general elections is almost upon us and we need to spread the word about the impeccable leadership His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his administration have shown to the people of this country. Not only do we need to retain both the presidency and the parliamentary seat but we have to win with a historic margin. The job has just began; and we will not rest until it has been completed.
