One, two, three and roll. Something great is happening to Brong Ahafo – Ghana@50 in Brong Ahafo with Highlife legends. Sit back, relax and read on.

After a series of sleepless nights and endless consultations for sponsors, Asesedwa Music Production in collaboration with Chris FM, Berekum and Sky FM, Sunyani and support from the Busia Foundation will be holding on to their promise as they bring to the doorsteps of people of Brong, a series of live performances with Ghana's most versatile highlife kings such as the heavyweight highlifer, Teacher Boateng, the indefatigable Abrekyieba Kofi Sammy, the great Dr. Paa Bobo and the likes.

Yes! You heard it right. It's live band music from Unity Band led by Koo Emma and not miming.

This event is to compliment the effort of the government in the celebration of this historic event that also showcases the great strides achieved over the last six years under His Excellency, President John Agyekum Kufuor.

And hey, the only hiplifer that will be storming the Brong Ahafo Region with ground breaking and car-banging tunes is the lyricist Okyeame Quame. Isaac Wilson (Yesi Nkete), the gospel starlet of Canada and the gospel songbird Diana Hamilton will put us in the spiritual mood.

The Brong Ahafo Region as we all know is not only the food basket of Ghana but has also produced one of the founding fathers of Ghana, the late Dr. K.A. Busia, a visionary whose short reign as Prime Minister actually brought the spirit of entrepreneurship in Ghana which has endured to this day coupled with tourist attraction sites that will blow your mind so in case you have not visited, let this event draw you close to Brong Ahafo. Did you know the present first-lady of Ghana is from Brong Ahafo?

Using the music medium to convey goodwill messages to people of Ghana especially those in Brong Ahafo, the famous Seikwa will play host to great voices, thrilling energy and dynamic talents on April 5, 2007. Wamfie will come alive on April 6 with the walls of Drobo/Japekrom 'breaking down' on April 7.

Meet us in Berekum on April 8 and on April 9, all roads lead to Sunyani. Update your calendars, pda's and mobile phones because you can't afford to miss.

This is a must-attend event because Teacher Boateng promises nights of dancing. “Fans should put on their dancing shoes because no one will be seen standing or sitting.”

Far Left (Abrekyieba Kofi Sammy in his youthful days): “It's either you are there or nowhere. Come see me do the dance moves.”

Speaking to the C.E.O of Synergic Systems and General Manager of G.A.P.I (www.gapigh.org), Mr. Francis Mensah Twum, he had this to say: “We decided to put up this event to bring to the doorstep of the world, great highlife kings and on the event days, expect nothing but stunning performances.”

Sponsors willing to come on board this great event can call +233 24 375 4446 or email [email protected].
