South African Premier Soccer League side Maritzburg United have parted ways with Ghanaian striker Yakubu Mohammed after just a single season spell with the club, according to Accra-based Oman FM.
The 23-year-old powerful center-forward signed for United from Ghanaian Premier League side AshGold SC but could not impress on his debut season.
Yakubu, who was earlier rejected by fellow Premier League side Orlando Pirates after a trial spell, scored just a league goal in 13 appearances in the entire season and has been asked to find a new club.
