Panthers FC have never won the Premier League title in the history of Equatoguinean football, but only made it to Africa following their triumph in the Equatoguinean knock-out Cup.
The Panthers FC defeated AD Mesi Nkulu 1-0 in 2012, and repeated that feat in 2013 by beating Nsok-Nsomo 2-0 to retain the trophy.
The Equatoguinean Cup, created in 1974, is the top knockout tournament of the Equatoguinean football.
Medeama, also won Ghana's top knock-out football, with a narow 1-0 win over Asante Kotoko in July last year.
They play their home games at the Nuevo Estadio de Malabo which holds a capacity of 15,250, and it was mainly built in 2007 primarily to host the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

coach Daniel Luengo and club President Rusian Obiang
On January 30th this year, the Panthers unveiled Daniel Roberto Luengo, 51, as the new coach of the team, replacing the Equatorial Guinean Casto Nopo Abeso.
The Argentine coach has signed on for six renewable months and on January 29 was presented along with four new players, which includes a Ghanaian footballer.
The Panthers FC boast of two Ghanaian players – former Hearts of Oak winger Bernard Don Bortey and defender Adamu Moro.
Club president, Ruslan Obiang Nsue, has tasked his charges to reach the group stage of the Confederations Cup.
It's opponent will be Madeama SC of Ghana, and the first leg will be held on February 8 in Essipong.
With Theophilus Anoobah, Kennedy Boateng and Foli Adade returning from the just concluded Champions for African nations competition, Medeama will look to eliminate unfamiliar foe led by Ghana 'serial killer' Bernard Dada Don Bortey.
