Ghanaian social media sensation Kailani Ibrahim, popularly known as “Powder Man,” has appeared before the Accra Circuit Court over an alleged visa fraud case involving more than 13 people and over $30,000.
Ibrahim, who gained international attention during the 2026 FIFA World Cup for his viral powder antics while supporting the Black Stars, is accused of allegedly taking money from victims after promising to secure visas and facilitate travel opportunities for them.
According to reports, the accused allegedly promised some of his victims travel opportunities to Canada, Nicaragua and the United States, but reportedly failed to deliver on the promises and subsequently went into hiding.
Ibrahim was arrested on Monday, August 24, 2026, at East Legon in Accra by officers from the Documentation and Visa Fraud Unit of the Ghana Police Service Headquarters.
In a video sighted on social media on Wednesday, August 26, Ibrahim was seen being escorted to the court premises by police officers. He was wearing a nose mask and a green hoodie.
The court subsequently granted the alleged visa fraud suspect GH¢70,000 bail, according to reports.
Ibrahim became a popular figure during the 2026 World Cup after videos of him blowing white powder during Ghana’s matches went viral. He claimed the act was intended to provide spiritual support and help the Black Stars score against their opponents.
The latest allegations, however, have placed the social media sensation at the centre of a criminal investigation unrelated to his World Cup antics.
The case is expected to continue before the Accra Circuit Court as investigations into the alleged visa fraud proceed.
The allegations against Kailani Ibrahim are yet to be proven in court, and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
