Ghana’s Black Queens will continue their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with a high-profile international friendly against West African rivals Nigeria’s Super Falcons.

The much-anticipated encounter is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Stade El Abir Zaouli, with kick-off set for 4:00 pm.

The Black Queens enter the fixture with renewed confidence after securing a 1-0 victory over Côte d’Ivoire in their opening pre-tournament friendly. Sharon Sampson scored the decisive goal in the 75th minute to hand Ghana a positive start to their WAFCON preparations.

The meeting with Nigeria is expected to provide a tougher challenge as head coach and his technical team continue to assess the squad, strengthen team chemistry and fine-tune their tactics ahead of the continental tournament.

The fixture will also reignite one of African women’s football’s biggest rivalries, with both Ghana and Nigeria looking to gain momentum and build confidence before the start of WAFCON.

The Black Queens, who claimed a bronze medal at the previous edition of the tournament, have been drawn in Group D alongside Cape Verde, Cameroon and Mali, as they aim for another strong campaign on the continental stage.
