Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has disclosed that businessman and philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama has instructed him and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to acquire the design of the Boston Stadium in the United States with the aim of building a similar facility in Ghana.
Speaking in an interview with Citi Sports following Ghana's goalless draw against England at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Boston, Adams revealed that Ibrahim Mahama was highly impressed by the stadium's infrastructure.
According to the Sports Minister, the businessman expressed a strong interest in investing in sports infrastructure after witnessing the facility firsthand.
“We need to invest in sports infrastructure. I sat with Ibrahim Mahama during Ghana’s game against England, and he asked how much it would cost to build a stadium like this," he said.
"Ibrahim Mahama has tasked Kurt Okraku and me with securing the Boston Stadium design so work can begin in Ghana,” Adams added.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars have already secured qualification to the Round of 32 of the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup and will conclude their Group L campaign against Croatia later tonight in Philadelphia.
