Mahama begins Central Region Resetting Ghana Tour

President John Dramani Mahama on Friday began his two-day working visit of the Central Region with his Resetting Ghana Tour.

The Resetting Ghana Tour is designed to take the President out of his office in Accra into the regions, facilitating direct engagement with the people.

A statement issued by the Presidency said the President's activities will begin at Assin Bereku in the Assin North District, where he will address a durbar of Chiefs and the people and cut the sod for a new “24-hour economy market,” a flagship initiative of his administration.

Accompanied by key sector ministers and government appointees, President Mahama will inspect several critical infrastructure projects, including four ongoing road projects in the region.

In the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District, the President will inaugurate a CHPS compound and present Free Primary Health Care kits, underscoring the government's commitment to accessible healthcare for its people.

President Mahama will also visit the Cape Coast Castle, where he would use the opportunity to promote heritage tourism and support efforts to attract more domestic and international tourists to the Central Region.

The statement explained that the tour would culminate in a Citizens Engagement town hall at Apam Junction.

That forum would serve as an accountability platform, enabling the President to report on initiatives to drive development, investment, and job creation in the region.

It would also provide residents with a vital opportunity to share feedback on their most pressing needs directly with the President. A somber re-enactment of the transatlantic slave trade era at Cape Coast Castle, depicting the moments before enslaved people were marched through the ‘Door of No Return’ to ships bound for the Americas and the Caribbean.
