Former Ghana international Dan Quaye has warned that the Black Stars will face a difficult match when they begin their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign against Panama.
Dan Quaye believes Ghana’s success at the tournament will depend largely on the players’ attitude and determination, while coach Carlos Queiroz continues to prepare the team.
“Panama will not be easy opponents for Ghana. While we are aiming for a strong start to the tournament, they will also be desperate for victory. I believe that with a strong fighting spirit, the Black Stars can succeed against them,” he told Swiit FM.
“Coach Carlos Queiroz is doing his best, but I think everything will ultimately depend on the players if we are to make an impact at this tournament,” he added.
Ghana will make their fifth appearance at the World Cup and will start their Group L campaign against Panama on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. The match is expected to be an important opening game for both teams.
